This International Women’s Day (March 8, 2022), OCHU-CUPE is celebrating women’s leadership on our health system’s front-lines throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Providing crucial care at Ontario’s understaffed hospitals as beds filled with COVID infected patients is beyond exceptional.

Despite all their pandemic sacrifices hospital workers – the majority of whom are women – face rising workplace violence and harassment and stagnating wages.

Many women on the health care front-lines are also dealing with increased family and elder care responsibilities.

Through political action, at the bargaining table and in solidarity with others in our communities across the province, OCHU-CUPE women in the hospital sector are making a difference each day to breaking down the barriers that women face. OCHU-CUPE is committed to being there with you to challenge the continued undervaluing and underpaying of care work with all our hospital members on the front-lines.
